My curly hair journey began in 2012 when I dedicated myself to my own tight curls. Like many people, I started out feeling overwhelmed and frustrated by the conflicting advice, endless products and techniques that didn’t translate into real results.
Over time, I realised something important: your curls don’t need to be fixed, they need to be understood. That belief now shapes everything I do as a curly hair specialist in Manchester.
Curly Gal Chlo Salon isn’t just a salon. It is a private curl coaching experience that prioritises the health of your hair and your haircare education above “Instagram worthiness” and the latest trends.
Most curl frustration comes from approaching textured hair as if it's "wrong" or "difficult". Social media trends and product marketing often push the idea that you need a 10-step routine or the next miracle formula. But real, sustainable curl care comes from education, not consumerism.

The UK lags behind in terms of its professional education opportunities honouring the full spectrum of curl types. So, I trained extensively with Cut It Kinky in Tennessee (Oct 2022) and London (Aug 2023), becoming one of only three stylists in the UK qualified at their highest level to hydrate, define and cut afro-textured hair in its natural curly state.

Who I Serve
I work with clients of all ages and genders who meet any of the following criteria:
Wavy, curly, coily and kinky hair. While I don’t use these terms, you may be used to referring to your hair with curl types (2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, 3C, 4A, 4B and 4C), or as afro hair, textured hair or mixed hair.
Transitioning curls from relaxer or keratin treatments
Damaged curls, including post-keratin treatment recovery
